CSM Bakery Solutions provides innovative premium bakery ingredients, finished products, and services to customers in more than 100 countries. Their customers include retail (bakeries, cafes, restaurants, grocery stores, and wholesale retailers) and foodservice markets (artisan and industrial bakeries).
In 2017, CSM determined that large budget allocations, such as the cost of annual SAP support, were limiting their ability to fund critical investments in infrastructure and make capacity improvements in their facilities around the world. CSM had no immediate need to upgrade their SAP products (SAP ECC6 and many application modules), a major reason to remain on SAP support because their SAP landscape was stable.
With a companywide drive to make sustainable savings, CSM began investigating alternative support models for their global SAP environment. By meeting the challenge of reducing operating expenses, CSM could add to the financial bottom line and reinvest in its IT infrastructure.

CSM uses SAP for everything from ERP to supply relation management, customer relationship management, production planning, and more, so their decision was not made lightly. “I thought at the beginning, are we going to get that same support with Spinnaker Support as we did with SAP?” McCarthy said. “As it happens, it’s actually better.” See why in this short video:
